HOLIDAYS IN THE SNOW

Every winter, Strickhof and the Preuneggtal become a paradise for skiers! As Strickhof is located close to the 4-mountain-ski-carousel of Schladming, the ski areas Reiteralm, Hochwurzen, Planai and Hauser Kaibling can be reached with ski-lifts only.

Since the opening of the cable car "Preunegg-Jet" in 2010, guests at Strickhof begin their skiing-day just a few metres away from their holiday home. The modern gondolas have a capacity of 8 person each and transport you to the center of the ski area "Reiteralm" with a direct connection (slopes and cable cars) to Hochwurzen, Planai and Hauser Kaibling.

In addition to the great possibilities in skiing, wintertime at Strickhof can be combined with some great activities. For example, there is a possibility to go on a natural skiing tour, a winter hiking trip with snowshoes or ski mountaineering. You will explore areas of untouched nature where the snow will be more than 3ft deep in an average winter.

Another great family adventure is the toboggan run of 4.3 miles (illuminated at night) in Hochwurzen - it can be reaced in just a few minutes by car! Further highlights are the Dachstein-glacier and - of corurse - all the ski lodges with their great restaurants.

During the winter season, the whole farm and the area around become a magic place with a unique setting inmidst a winter wonderland with a spectacular view on the frozen Dachstein-glacier! Even the youngest visitors look forward to a toboggan ride at the farm or a snowball fight with the whole family.
