HOLIDAYS IN THE NATURE

For those who like to have calmer activities, there are many classic trails featuring a great view over the Ennstal. Hiking trails have a long tradition in the region and mark the beginning of tourism in the alps. The possibilites for days off are many and varied. Don't forget to visit "Spiegelsee" (engl. "Mirror Lake") and our home mountain Schideck, the world famous Dachstein-glacier and "Halseralm", an original alp built in the 18th century. Your host family really likes to organize a walking tour to "Ursprungsalm" (engl. "alp of origin") for you by request. You won't find electricity or water pipes there! To a greater degree, fresh water from mountain streams give you the chance to have a cold (and free) refreshment. Enjoy the wonderful nature and escape from the closeness and stress in the big cities.

Do you like horse riding? Our Strickhof-Horses Leo, Cesar and Hanni are just waiting for the next trip - we start Monday to Friday at 5pm in the summertime on a quiet forest track.

In the area around Strickhof there are lots of lakes and natural pools (one of them is placed directly at the farm) where swimming is allowed. Every single sea and pool has its own, private atmosphere and offers the possibility to relax - far away from big cities and loud outdoor swimming pools.

You should not miss to visit us in authumn, when it's beginning to become a little cooler and cosier in the area. It's the most colorful time in the mountains. Especially at sunrise and sunset, you will see a natural spectacle that you can't find anywhere else in the world.
